How we size a Revenue Cloud Advanced build
Pick a tier for each part of the build and watch the hours add up — including the discovery, testing, go-live and PM hours most estimates leave out. Built for the people who have to sanity-check scope on a call.

Quote-to-Cash, amendments and renewals. Build hours only — the wrapper (discovery, UAT, go-live, hypercare, PM) is added for you. Billing-on-core excluded. Sections can and should land in different tiers; tap What puts you here? under any section if you're unsure.
Ranges, not a quote. The low end assumes clean requirements, one decision-maker, and a client team that shows up. Most projects land in the upper half.
You've picked Quickstart somewhere. Quickstart is a fixed-fee productized offering priced on a $200/hr basis — an introductory rate tied to fixed scope; T&M engagements price separately. Integrations and data migration are excluded from the fixed fee: nearly every implementation needs at least one integration, so the first standard connector is a fixed-fee add-on scoped at 60–120 hours (S-tier archetype), quoted at signature. At Quickstart, CLM covers renewals and cancellations only; amendments start at S.
How big is a tier?
Totals if every section lands in the same column. Real projects mix columns — that's what the estimator above is for.
| Tier | Build | Wrapper | Total hours |
|---|---|---|---|
| Quickstartexcludes integrations & data migration | 240–320 | 225–290 | 465–610 |
| S | 440–860 | 335–525 | 775–1,385 |
| M | 1,100–2,040 | 570–975 | 1,670–3,015 |
| L | 2,460–4,170 | 1,060–1,680 | 3,520–5,850 |
| XL | 4,590–7,550 | 1,830–2,900 | 6,420–10,450 |
Things that move the number
If any of these sound like your business, expect the matching sections above to land a tier higher than your first guess. That's not padding — it's where the hours actually go.
- “Our pricing is really complicated.”
- Pricing procedures and pricing plans move up a tier. Complicated pricing is where the hours hide.
- “We have hundreds of products.”
- Product catalog and pricing move up. SKU count drives modeling time more than anything else.
- “We do channel or partner pricing.”
- Pricing plans move up. Each channel is its own pricing model, not a discount on the list price.
- “We sell internationally.”
- Pricing plans, quote, and proposal all move up. Multi-currency touches every document you generate.
- “We need branded proposals for each business unit.”
- Quote proposal & eSignature moves up. Each brand is a template set, not a logo swap.
- “Our contracts need multiple signers, in order.”
- Quote proposal & eSignature goes to L or XL. Signing order is routing logic, and routing logic is build time.
- “Our customers add seats and change orders all the time.”
- CLM actions move up. Amendments are a second product to build, not a checkbox.
- “We have evergreen or month-to-month contracts.”
- CLM actions go to L or XL. Evergreen renewals are the hardest scenario in the whole rubric.
- “We have years of existing contracts to bring over.”
- Data migration moves up sharply. Contract history is the dirtiest data you own.
- “Pricing has to come from another system in real time.”
- Pricing procedures goes to XL. That's custom Apex, not configuration.
- “We run multiple business units or brands.”
- Catalog, pricing, and proposals all move up. Every business unit multiplies the catalog.
- “We bill on usage.”
- That's metering, and it sits outside this rubric. Worth a separate conversation.
- “We're replacing a CPQ we already have.”
- Data migration moves up, and re-platforming risk comes with it. Your existing rules won't map one-to-one.
- “It has to talk to NetSuite (or SAP, or…).”
- Add one integration per system in the estimator. Count them separately — they never bundle.
This is version 0.8, and we mean it
These ranges come from our own delivery history, which makes them honest and incomplete at the same time. If a number here doesn't match what you have seen in the field, tell us and we'll fix it.
